A short note from behind the mic
If I were to make a mixtape that captured the energy behind this latest episode — and the chaos happening behind the scenes as we recorded it — it would start with “Pressure” by Billy Joel and end with “And She Was” by Talking Heads.
Because, of course, right when I thought I’d silenced all my notifications…
I got one telling me that a publication interview I did? Lost.
My son started calling — wisdom teeth situation, in pain, needs help.
My electronics were glitching. Mercury is retrograding.
And I was trying to record a podcast that’s meant to help people feel grounded and inspired.
But here’s the thing — people have been reaching out.
Telling me they’re loving the podcast. That they’re learning from it.
They feel less alone listening to it.
So I keep showing up.
Because even in the chaos, I love what I’m doing.
Because I get to have moments of reflection, laughter, and real talk with good people.
Now, if you listen to this episode, you might notice the verbal tornado of “so like…” and “you know…”
I’ve learned something: that’s my brain in overload mode.
It’s also just me being me. And honestly? I’m okay with that.
I could have scrapped this episode. I thought about it.
But I realized: this is exactly why I started Think Piece.
Unrehearsed. Messy. Laughable. Honest.
Real life. You can’t script that.
(You know?)
So… welcome to Think Piece.
